I'm Marjorie
LOS ANGELES NEWBORN & FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER
I work with parents who want relaxed and unposed photos, providing them with images that capture the joyful and unscripted moments in life.
More about Me
If you cringe at the thought of posing your newborn for studio photos, or simply want newborn photos that capture the joyful and unscripted moment of life, then documentary newborn photography may be right for you.
The idea of a documentary photoshoot is to capture your family just as you are, without dressing it up for the camera.
As a client described our session to a friend, “You just live your life and Marjorie takes photos.”
This leads to a more laid-back and relaxed session, where you can actually savor these moments with your new baby rather than worry about how you’re looking on-camera. What’s more, you end up with images that reflect what that moment in time felt like. Images that have the power to tell your story.
Though I do provide some guidance during a documentary newborn photography session, there are no fake smiles or fake anything. All the emotions are real. The moments really happened. So when you look back at these photos 20 years from now, they will transport you right back to this moment.
The session below is a great example of documentary newborn photography, where everyone is relaxed, and all the smiles are real.
Hello! Thanks for stopping by. I’m Marjorie of Marjorie Cohen Photography. I capture the joyful and unscripted moments of life for families based in Los Angeles, California.
