I'm Marjorie

LOS ANGELES NEWBORN & FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER

I work with parents who want relaxed and unposed photos, providing them with images that capture the joyful and unscripted moments in life.

More about Me

If you don’t consistently print your family photos, then you’re not alone. In this day and age, it’s so easy to snap countless photos of our kids on our devices, only to never look at them again. Or maybe spend a couple of hours scrolling through old photos on those nights we’re feeling especially nostalgic. Just me??

But there is something uniquely special about holding a printed photo in your hands or seeing a framed print on your wall. Printed photos preserve family history in a way that digitals simply can’t. The mere act of turning digital images into tangible products adds endless emotional value to photos.

Here are 5 Reasons to Print Your Family Photos so these meaningful moments are stored not only in our memories (or phones) but also in our homes.

1. When You Print Your Family Photos, You Create Tangible Mementos

Looking at your photos on a screen will never compare to the feeling of seeing them on your walls everyday, or flipping through the pages of an album with your children. Print products offer a connection to cherished moments that digital files simply can’t replicate. Being able to touch, hold, or display your photos only makes them more meaningful over time.

2. Printed Photos Are Good For Your Kid’s Self-Esteem

Studies have shown an increase in a child’s self-esteem in homes that displayed family photos. When a child sees themselves in photos, they feel a sense of belonging and security. Not to mention, they just LOVE it! Your family album would probably make it into the regular rotation of books they enjoy, especially before they learn how to read.

3. Printed Photos Will Become Family Heirlooms

Once you print your family photos, they can become treasured keepsakes passed down through the generations. And the longer they’ve been around, the more sentimental value they possess. Have you ever held your grandparents wedding photos? Or a childhood photo of your parents? Imagine how powerful to pass down a family album to your child one day…

4. Time Away From Screens

The older our kids get, the more drawn they become to electronic devices. Printed photos provide a break from screens and allow for a more personal, intimate way of reflecting on special moments. Not to mention they can help emotionally regulate a child, just as reading a book would. Though we can’t expect a child to stare at a static image for as long as they would entertain a screen, it is enough time to ground them and remind them of how loved they are.

5. Make Your Prints Your Home Decor

Family photos add a personal touch to your home. They can be used to decorate walls, desks, fireplaces, and even your coffee table. Albums can be displayed for visiting family and friends, or for your own family to flip through from time to time. You can mix up by having some of your favorite artwork alongside your personal photos, and even throw in some frames that were hand-made by your kiddos.
