More about Me

If you’re about to have your first child, you might be searching for a Santa Monica baby store to help you get ready for their arrival. Nobody has a longer to-do list than an expecting parent! But what if I told you there’s one place that has it all?

Whether you are looking for a retail store to buy all your baby supplies, classes to prepare you for childbirth or breastfeeding, or a community of new parents who will take those crucial first steps alongside you… You can find all of that in one place – The Pump Station in Santa Monica.

When my daughter was born, I found The Pump Station while looking for a breastfeeding class. (This is what they were most known for.) While breastfeeding is one of those things that comes naturally to some, it can be very challenging for others, and sometimes not the right fit at all. Per my ob/gyn’s suggestion, I signed up for a class to know what to expect and learn about those potential challenges that could arise.

To my surprise, The Pump Station ended up becoming a one-stop-shop for many of our newborn needs. I can honestly say that because of their Parents & Me group, this Santa Monica baby store ended up being our most valuable resource.

In fact, the one thing I recommend to all of my friends and clients who are about to have a baby is to join a Parents & Me or Mommy & Me class. Having a community during those early months of parenthood was everything to my husband and I.

In addition to that, The Pump Station was around when we needed extra help from a lactation consultant, when we had to pick up some new items we didn’t know we needed, and even when we were looking for a list of preschools for our daughter!

I really can’t say enough great things about this place. So here are all the reasons why The Pump Station is my absolute favorite Santa Monica baby store.

The Pump Station has a great retail store

Though I’m a huge proponent of buying everything online to save time, there are some things you just need to try out in person. Strollers, car seats, and baby carriers are all brand new products for people who are about to become parents.

Folding a stroller or wearing a baby-carrying wrap can seem like an intricate puzzle at first. Not only does The Pump Station have everything you need in their retail store, but they are there to provide expert advice and assistance for their walk-in shoppers.

A Santa Monica baby store that offers classes

If you’re about to have your first baby, there’s a lot you need to learn before you’re ready to care for your little one. How to feed them, burp them, change them, bathe them, swaddle them, and the list goes on. This Santa Monica baby store has a handful of classes and educational resources to prepare you for the early stages of parenthood. These classes include Baby Care 101, Breastfeeding, Pediatric CPR, and Childbirth Prep.

“My Parents & Me” or “Mommy & Me” Groups

Joining a Parents & Me group is the #1 thing I recommend to anyone having their first baby. A community is vital to your mental and social wellbeing. Even if you have friends who already have kids, it’s incredibly beneficial to be part of a group where the babies are all born around the same time. Babies change so much from week to week during that first year, so it’s nice to go through each milestone with other parents.

Parents & Me or Mommy & Me groups are led by highly qualified and compassionate early childhood experts who are there to provide you with all the resources you need to thrive. And the friendships you’ll build with the other families are priceless.

Lactation Consultants and other professionals

The Pump Station has been around for a long time and is a well-respected Santa Monica baby store. They have a wide network of qualified professionals to help you with all the challenges that might come up.

These include lactation consultants, postpartum doulas, sleep experts and more. During a time in your life where little things can feel like a big emergency, it’s amazing to have a go-to place to find additional help.
